The Iowa City Hospice
Walk for Dignity

Mark your calendar for the 2008 Walk for Dignity, scheduled for Sunday, April 20, 1 pm. This event provides an
opportunity to involve the community in supporting quality
end-of-life care.
There will also be many opportunities to support Iowa City Hospice
by volunteering to make this day happen. For
information or to volunteer, call or
e-mail Iowa City Hospice.

The Glenn Roberts Elks/Iowa City Hospice Golf Event

Each August, the Elks Lodge #590 opens its course for a day of golf
in support of hospice care. In 2008, the event will be held Monday, August 4, with 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. tee times. Because of the generosity of community sponsors, 100% of the players' registration fees support hospice care. The event is an 18-hole, four-person, best-ball format.

Donations

There are many ways to support Iowa City Hospice. Contributions, pledges,
memorials, and volunteering all help keep our mission alive. Some
suggestions include:
-
Cash contributions
Donations by cash, check,
or credit card are greatly appreciated. These funds ensure that hospice
care is available to anyone in our community affected by a terminal illness.
-
Equipment and supplies
Equipment and supplies can sometimes be used by others in our community
-
Memorial donations
Memorial donations are a thoughtful way to give a living tribute to
your loved one and to ensure that others affected by a terminal illness
will have access to hospice care. Memorial donors receive a thank
you from Iowa City Hospice, and the family/primary caregiver for the
individual named in the memorial is notified a donations.
-
Honorary gifts
Honorary gifts are a meaningful way to honor someone special on a birthday,
anniversary, holiday, or other special day. The person honored will
receive acknowledgement of your gift.
-
Planned giving
Planned gifts include bequests, charitable gift annuities and charitable trusts. You can make these gifts with
cash, appreciated securities, real estate, and more.
